In the fourth quarter of 2020, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1231.61 million, an increase of 0.86 percent over the fourth quarter of 2019. Exports were US$ 241.35 million, imports were US$ 900.35 million and re-exports were US$ 89.91 million.

In December 2020, the deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 194.17 million, a decrease of 9.84 per cent compared to the previous month of November. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 4.29 per cent compared to the deficit of December 2019.

In November 2020, the deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 215.35 million, an increase of 28.58 per cent compared to the previous month of October. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 24.29 per cent on the deficit of November 2019.

In October 202, the deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 167.48 million, an increase of 17.26 per cent compared to the previous month of September. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 8.99 per cent on the deficit of October 2019.
