The Travel Expenditure Survey (TES) studies how travelers spend their money. The survey collects data on non-residents’ expenditures on goods and services during their stay in Rwanda which are referred to as credits or exports and payments by residents of Rwanda during their travel abroad which are debits or imports. The survey gathers information from a varied sample of travelers, analyzing expenditures in major categories: accommodation, food and beverages, transportation, shopping, entertainment, sightseeing, education-related, health-related and other spending excluding international transportation costs.
